On October 12th. the autumns first flock of waxwings were seen in Henningsvær, John Stenersen reports.
This is a bird that breeds in the large spruce woods from eastern Finmark and eastwards trough northern Sweden, Finland and Russia. It usualy arrives in this part of Norway in fall, and feed mainly on rowanberrys.
