Rare documentation of killer whales huntinging either ducks at Røst.

During a visit to Røst in September, John Stenersen came across three killer whales swimming close to land. They where obviously up to something, and after a while it was clear that they where hunting seabirds.
At one occasion, John managet to photograph a killer whale in the moment it beats an either duck out of the water by a powerfull blow with the tail.
Dr. scient. Tiu Similä, expert on killer whales, sais this behaviour is known, but never documented from our region. She could also identify one of the individuals from the photo; the old matriarch NV4, leader of the NV-group, well known from several winter records in Tysfjord.
